Kevin Russell (aka Shinyribs) may be one of the few who embrace the term "swampy" as a positive adjective. Following nearly two decades in cult-favorite The Gourds, Russell launched his Shinyribs project as an opportunity to incorporate all of the unique styles and influences he's absorbed.
With the new album Fog & Bling, Shinyribs has captured a sound that is funky, soulful, and packed with the high-energy entertainment that encompasses his hometown regions of Texas and Louisiana. As is made abundantly clear during their JPR Live Session, on stage, Russell's a consumate entertainer, from the the tightly crafted tunes to the always flashy stage attire.
