🌲 Sequoia Park Ivy League is back for another pull! 🌲

📚 We have our own Ivy League in town and it’s not what you think. Instead of hitting the books, we are hitting the park to eradicate invasive ivy from our beloved Redwood forest.

⛲ Drop into the park anytime between 9am and 1pm on Saturday, April 11th. Meet at the Glatt St. Fountain at Glatt & T St. We will have all supplies for you, and we will train you on everything you need to know.

😊 This event is family-friendly, minors must be accompanied and managed by their guardian. Please contact 707-441-4218 if you have any questions.

Join us on Saturday, April 11, for a StoryWalk featuring Too Shy to Sing by Lisa Regan. Come to the StoryWalk about how little Canary learns to become brave enough to sing in public! Create bird-themed crafts with the help of park staff.

You can never have too many of these little magnet gems! They’re perfect for attaching all sorts of items to the refrigerator. Class members should bring five 1-inch printed images to cut out and apply to the inside of bottle caps. including favorite photos, meaningful quotes, sports logos, or other artwork. Student limit 15, fee $5, registration required.

Join us for The HUB’s Annual Spring Fashion Show and “Sip & Shop” on Saturday, April 11, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM—an afternoon of style, community, and purpose. This high-fashion fundraising event features a curated showcase of unique, upscale clothing, jewelry, and accessories, alongside delightful libations and great company.

The highlight of the afternoon, a runway fashion show, will take place from 2:30 to 3:30 PM, offering fresh inspiration for the season. Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere filled with friends, fashion, and fun—all while supporting a meaningful cause. Come shop, sip, and make a difference.

Welcome to the Winter of Rebellion

Our after-hours speakeasy-style series where wine flows, jazz smolders, and comedy keeps things dangerously fun through the winter months. We’re hosting a rotating lineup of intimate nights filled with live jazz, stand-up comedy, and that underground energy you didn’t know you needed this season.

Each evening has its own personality — some nights smooth and soulful, others laugh-out-loud ridiculous — but every night will be one to remember!

Here’s how it works

Show up hungry and ready to relax into sultry jazz music or to laugh so hard you have to try not to spit your wine everywhere.

Comedy Nights

A ticket price of $25 per person will be charged at the door on comedy nights to support our local artists. Please no children. 21+ only. These jokes will not be family friendly.

Jazz Nights

Jazz nights are free to attend. These nights are meant for everyone. Perfect for families.

Reservations are appreciated. Walk-ins are always welcome

On Saturday, April 11th, the Pistol River Concert Association is proud to welcome to the Friendship Hall stage, the haunting voice and wonderful lyrics of Ian George and the Knee Pockets.

Ian George is a prolific and heartfelt folk songwriter, wonderful vocalist and a superb musician who has perfo two decades across the US, Canada and Europe. He’s been featured at the Cambridge Folk Festival and as a member of the Fellow Pynins won the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time duet competition. His intimate and wandering lyrics sung with his haunting clear voice pull listeners into the depths of his songs.

When he gets together with his band, The Knee Pockets, they live by the moto: We Allow A Good Time! Their whimsical and clever arrangements, passionate music, friendly banter, and deep engagement with the audience make their shows fun and entertaining for all.

The show is Saturday, April 11th with doors opening at 6:00 PM for music that starts at 7:00. Tickets are available for $20 each at Wright’s Custom Framing in Brookings and First Chapter Coffee House in Gold Beach or can be purchased on-line at pistolriver.com for $21 each. If the show is not sold out, tickets will be available for $25 at the door, and those 17 and under are free! We’ll see you at the show!

Humor, Passion & Power celebrates the human spirit. Opening with Kabalevsky’s The Comedians, the mood then turns expressive with Robert Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A Minor, performed by cellist Garrick Woods. The evening concludes with the Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No.1 in G Minor.

Musical Notes begins at 6:30 pm. Attendees who may need assistance getting to the concert can sign up for the Eureka Symphony’s door-to-door Shuttle.

GPHS Project Graduation 2026 is sponsoring the annual "Will-A-Thon" to raise money for a safe drug and alcohol free party for the Class of 2026. Participants will consult with one of the following volunteer attorneys to have a basic will, power of attorney, and advance directive prepared. Cost $300 Single, $350 Couple.
