Victorian Era Fashion: "The Well Dressed Victorian"

Victorian Era Fashion: "The Well Dressed Victorian"

No clothing style in history is as popular as Victorian Era fashion! View and learn about the evolution of Victorian style between 12n and 3pm on September 20 and 21, when Historic Jacksonville, Inc. offers “The Well Dressed Victorian” tours at the 1870s Beekman House Museum, located at 470 E. California Street in Jacksonville. Docents and mannequins will be showcasing styles from the 1850s through the early 1900s, reflecting the changes in fashion over the 60 years of Queen Victoria’s reign. Each room will feature appropriate attire for a day’s typical activities including fashions for social calls, travel, formal dinners, mourning, country outings, servants’ chores, undergarments, and more.
This was a unique period in history—and fashion history—and these 1-hour tours provide an opportunity to explore aspects of it. Tours begin every 20 minutes and cost $10; reservations are encouraged. Tickets and information can be found at https://www.historicjacksonville.org/victorian-theme-tours/
