Rally For The C'waam and Koptu
Come support endangered species. July 18, 2022 marks 34 years since C'waam and Koptu- Also Known as The Lost river and Short nose suckers, have been placed on the endangered species list. Community group AMBODAT and the Klamath Tribes invite the public to come learn about the importance of water conservation, land restoration, endangered ecosystems and our fish relatives - the C'waam and Koptu who continue to fight extinction. Come learn more about our sacred fish and what they mean to the indigenous people of the Klamath Basin. The event will begin with a parade at noon from Chiloquin to Klamath falls to gain awareness and support. We will return to the Klamath Tribes Community Fitness Center at 2:30 pm for free meal and educational presentation from members of the Klamath tribes and The Klamath Tribes Aquatics Resources Dept. The public is encouraged to join the parade at any part of route through Chiloquin/ Klamath falls or The Tribes Fitness Center for our educational presentation.
