A Greater Applegate and the Applegate Poets welcome Oregon Poet Laureate, Anis Mojgani, for a spoken-word performance at Plaisance Ranch in Williams. Anis will be joined by musician-writer, Nick Jaina. Nick is an Oregon Book Award finalist and recently composed music for the movie Elemental.

The author of five books, Mojgani is a two-time National Poetry Slam champion and one-time World Cup winner. He’s been called a ‘geek genius’ and his style is lively, heartfelt, thought-provoking and entertaining.
Nick Jaina will add texture to the evening with this spell-binding music/prose performance, which perfectly compliments Anis’ lively spoken-word style.

The Rogue Valley’s own elder and poetry-lover, Dot Fisher-Smith, will close the evening.

UNESCO counts poetry among the world’s “intangible treasures.” To have Anis bring his “fiercely hopeful word arias” to the rural Applegate Valley is a special thing.
