Exploring Cheese Pairings and the Science of Flavor

Exploring Cheese Pairings and the Science of Flavor

Do you ever wonder what makes certain flavors or textures go so well together? Maybe you just need some inspiration for your next cheese platter? In this cheese pairing class, participants will be invited to mix and match an assortment of cheeses and artisanal foods chosen to highlight some of the pairing principles used by industry professionals. We will then discuss some of the scientific research in the field of gastronomy that corresponds to these pairing principles.

As a former Cheese Master, Cody Reese spent 8 years working in specialty cheese shops packaging, sampling, and peddling a selection of over 150 different artisan cheeses from around the world. During that time, Cody delivered a variety of tasting, pairing, and cooking demos to help share the wonders of cheese with his customers.

All cheeses provided will include dairy, some may include animal rennet, most will be produced from Cow’s milk. Pairing items may include nuts or meat.

Free of charge. Registration required. Best for ages 18+
