The Flat fire in Curry (and now Josephine) Counties is the major focus for our part of the world at the moment.

It was roughly 23,000 acres by Tuesday morning, when we checked in with Incident Commander Dan Quinones for an update on firefighting activities.

He reports on the rugged terrain, the approach to the fire containment, and the significance of past burn scars for this fire.

We got a phone number for people to use to get Flat fire info if they do not have Internet service
