Overpasses and underpasses are abundant on freeways, and you probably barely even notice them as you pass.
Plans are in the works to build more of them, and the new ones are not for people in vehicles. Instead, they are for wildlife to get across the freeway without becoming roadkill.
The Southern Oregon Wildlife Crossing Coalition brings together a number of different wildlife-friendly groups and public agencies to push for wildlife crossings, especially between Ashland and the California state line.
Amy Amrhein is the coordinator of the coalition; she and Jack Williams of Trout Unlimited talk about the vision and the current plans.
