Take this job, please! The elements of The Great Resignation

David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck were way ahead of their time. Coe wrote, and Paycheck performed, the song "Take This Job and Shove It" back in 1977.

It took the COVID-19 pandemic to get people to finally say that in huge numbers. The result is being called either "The Great Resignation" or simply "The Great Quit," and it has employers all over the country raising wages and scrambling to get people to take them.

Scott Nelson, a labor and employment lawyer based in Texas, keeps an eye on developments in his field. He joins us for some perspective behind the numbers of people calling it quits on old jobs.
