Why Oregon's storied Blue Book is still a thing

Once upon a time, one of the indispensable reference works in newsrooms around Oregon was the Blue Book.

In one fat paperback, reporters and editors could look up basic facts and figures about all branches and agencies of state government. The digital age has rendered the physical copy of the Oregon Blue Book less necessary, but the book itself is still compiled AND still printed.

We catch up on the creation and contents of the book, in a chat with Oregon State Archivist Stephanie Clark and Oregon Blue Book Managing Editor Julie Yamaka.
