How we show and discuss feminism and sexism in media

The TV show "Game of Thrones" was immensely popular, and still is.

But trying to analyze it can hurt your brain; it features both strong women characters and scenes of extreme misogyny. And that's just one example Andrea Press and Francesca Tripodi give in their book Media-Ready Feminism and Everyday Sexism.

The book examines how our society portrays and consumes feminism and sexism through mass and social media. There's a lot of variety in how the #metoo movement shows up in our media, for another example.

The authors join us to delve further into a multifaceted topic.
