We suspect at least one person uttered a "woo hoo" in the offices at the Oregon Department of Forestry when its Southwest District declared the end of fire season in Jackson and Josephine Counties.
The return of cool weather and even rain led to the declaration, effective at 9 AM on October 20th.
It was a long fire season, and fires are not completely out in all corners of the region, still.
Natalie Weber, Public Information Officer with ODF, visits with a summation of fire season activity out of her office in the Rogue Valley. Randall Baley, Protection Unit Forester for the Klamath-Lake District, also joins the conversation.
