It's been more than 50 years since Ashland resident Carolee Buck volunteered for the Peace Corps in Senegal.
But not only are her memories fresh, she plans a visit back there, courtesy of the country's president.

Buck wrote a book about her Peace Corps experience, noted a shared connection to the hometown of Senegalese President Macky Sall, and sent him a copy.

It turns out they even knew some of the same people, and he invited Buck to visit his country again, at his expense.

Carolee Buck visits to talk about the journey back then and the journey pending.
