The Almeda Drive Fire disrupted life in Talent in a number of ways. Burning down hundreds of homes and businesses was just part of it.
Now, as Talent rebuilds, there are gaps in access to the Internet. And the nonprofit No One Left Offline, the City of Talent, and Umpqua Bank are addressing the gaps. The bank just donated $20,000 for NOLO to work with the city to provide broadband hotspots.
Kevin Frazier started NOLO; Jason Clark is vice-chair of the Talent Urban Renewal Agency, and Brenden Butler works for Umpqua Bank. They visit to add details to the plan.
