Streets are for cars and trucks, or were; now they frequently have lanes just for bicycles, and other amenities for people traveling in something other than single-person motor vehicles.
Rethinking Streets is the apt name for a project at the Sustainable Cities Institute at the University of Oregon. The project has put out several publications, including a recent one envisioning changes to streets brought about by COVID-19.
Marc Schlossberg is the co-director at SCI; he and some transportation activists visit to explore new ways to think about our concrete-and-asphalt arteries.
