Living in a rural area like ours, we get used to wildfires and their evacuations, which are often complicated by the need to move pets and farm animals out of harm's way, along with their people.
PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, put out a list of ways to see to the needs of pets and livestock as fires approach, or even if smoke drifts in from distant fires.
