Josh Gross's Novel Finds Humor In Our Smoky Summers

Aubrey Hollingshead

We remain impressed at the array of Josh Gross's creative skills.

We've missed Josh's regular Jefferson Exchange segment, Rogue Sounds while the pandemic kept music venues shut, but he kept busy by writing a novel.

Josh is back with us to talk about his newly-published novel, Summer of Smoke.

As the title suggests Josh's story takes place during the pea-soupy summers of recent years. His book focuses on the members of a single family and how each of them deal with the stress of trying to live in an apocalyptic smoke-scape.

Josh Gross's first time on the Jefferson Exchange, before becoming our Music Guru, was for an earlier book.
