Things are beginning to happen again in the arts world, and not just online. Rising vaccination rates and falling new COVID cases mean people can gather in places like theaters again.
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival just announced the reopening of its Elizabethan Theater in a few weeks, and other theater groups are putting actors back on stages before live audiences. Galleries and other arts spaces are following suit, making this an optimistic First Friday of June.
We observe the day with the return of our First Friday Arts segment, inviting arts groups to share news of their events: 800-838-3760. Listen for the news, or, if you know of an event not listed, call the number and tell our listeners.
This month's calls came from:
- New Zone Gallery in Eugene
- Chamber Music Concerts in Ashland
- Collaborative Theatre Project in Medford
- Liberty Arts in Yreka
- Historic Jacksonville, Inc.
- Grants Pass Museum of Art
- Ashland Gallery Association
- Camelot Theatre in Talent
