Audit Report Finds Needs In Oregon's Ethics Oversight

creativesignature/Pixabay

They let us down upon occasion, but we do expect ethical behavior of our political leaders and government staffers.

Oregon does have an agency to investigate ethics complaints, but a recent audit from the Secretary of State's office found some issues in structure and function. Some corrections can be done by staff at the Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC), but some will take changes in state law to implement.

Secretary of State Shemia Fagan and Steve Winn and Bill Newell from the Audit Division visits with details of the report and steps to correct the deficiencies.
