We've all gotten used to the acronym AAPI recently, and not for good reasons. Asian American/Pacific Islander people have been the target of hostility, largely because of the false claims and names for COVID-19.

May happens to be AAPI Heritage Month, and we dig into that heritage in this month's edition of Underground History, our joint venture with the Southern Oregon University Laboratory of Anthropology.

Chelsea Rose from SOULA returns, as does Priscilla Wegars, who curates a collection of Asian American artifacts at the University of Idaho. Renae Campbell, a doctoral student who assists on the project, joins in.
