Exchange Exemplar: Giving Credit To A Monster-Maker

Facebook

King Kong, Frankenstein's Monster, the Creature from the Black Lagoon: all big fellas, generally known for terrorizing the populace and carrying women away with them. But that last one owes his very existence to a woman.

In The Lady from the Black Lagoon: Hollywood Monsters and the Lost Legacy of Milicent Patrick, we get the story of the talented artist (and actor) who first visualized the guy from the Black Lagoon.

Mallory O'Meara, herself a screenwriter and producer, wrote the book and joined us to talk about it in 2019.
