City of Talent

The small city of Talent has been trying to get its "Gateway" project off the ground for several years now. The city's front door on Oregon Highway 99 is mostly vacant land waiting for long-term occupants.

The Almeda fire of September 2020 destroyed hundreds of homes in town, leading to a plan to use the Gateway site for transitional housing. And that plan includes a public art component.

We get details on the Gateway Mural Art Competition (closing May 21st) from City Councilor Colette Paré-Miller, Public Arts Committee Chair Aubrey Laughlin, and Allison French from Talent Maker City.
