Stories Of Southern Oregon: Eagle Point's Extra Effort On History
It's not unusual to find a few items of historical relevance in the possession of a municipality.
But the City of Eagle Point goes well beyond that, with a collection of historical artifacts and archives considered second only to the Southern Oregon Historical Society in the county. The city runs its own museum (outside the pandemic) to tell the story of the town's early years and the growth since then.
City Administrator Aaron Prunty talks about the historical treasure trove in this month's edition of Stories of Southern Oregon, a trove that has been largely digitized recently. SOSO curator Maureen Flanagan Battistella joins the conversation.
