Exchange Exemplar: Loosing Wit Upon The World

rawpixel/Pixabay

Most of us have envied another person's wit at one time or another. But could you come up with a quick definition of "wit?"

To James Geary, it's the kind of intelligence that allows a person to say or do the right thing at the right time. Geary explores the concept at length in his book Wit's End: What Wit is, How it Works, and Why We Need It.

Witty writers and comedians are mentioned in the book, but it's less about them then what they said, and how that spices up life for all of us. We revisit the author's visit from 2019.
