Mountain View Estates in Talent after the Almeda Fire, September 2020.

The collection of homes that burned in the September fires took years to build, and a day to wipe out. It will take time to rebuild the nearly 2,500 homes lost just to the Almeda Fire, but the work is progressing.

FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, plays a role in long-term rebuilding, and in the short-term housing of fire victims. We begin a (roughly) bi-weekly visit with FEMA reps to keep up with news on the housing and rebuilding front.

Listen for a progress report on post-fire restoration.
