Reporter Covers Pandemic Impact On North Coast Undocumented People

geralt/Pixabay

It's become one of the phrases of the pandemic: "the virus doesn't care." Which is true on many levels, and an especially sharp point for people living in the country without legal permission. They are just as susceptible to COVID-19 as anyone else, often have greater exposure to it, and have less recourse should they become sick.

The Community Voices Coalition on California's North Coast recently zeroed in on this story. Reporter Iridian Casarez pointed out that virus risk is high in the undocumented population, but with no federal aid to help support people who lose health or jobs.

Casarez visits with further detail on her piece.
