2019 was the fluke, the year we didn't have much in the way of major destructive fires.
While we work to clean up and rebuild from the 2020 fires, we look backward as well. The project known as "Your Carr Fire Story: Written and Heard" brought the resources of the Shasta Arts Council and California Humanities into an effort to document the 2018 Carr Fire in the Redding area.
People who escaped the fire got to write and tell their own stories. We get our weekly installment from one of the participants, Alex Stephens.
