Last-Minute Voting Advice From County Clerks

Andrew Nixon / CapRadio

If you're planning on voting in this election and you haven't done so, you're almost out of time. In California, you can still drop a ballot in the mail and hope that it is postmarked no later than election day.

But in Oregon, the ballot has to ARRIVE at the county clerk's office by 8 PM on election night. We bring in a couple of our county clerks to discuss last-minute voter behavior, and what lies ahead for their busy workers on Tuesday.

Chris Walker is the Jackson County Clerk, Cathy Darling Allen is the Shasta County Clerk. They visit to compare notes on the most important part of the election cycle: the counting.

Shasta County is adding a new wrinkle with this election: live streaming of Election Day activities, during both voting and counting. The link leads to a YouTube channel.
