It's become a bit of a cliché, but the term "starving artist" stays in the language because it does ring true for some artists. And a hand-to-mouth living situation only gets worse when artworks can't be displayed for people to see (and buy).
So the Oregon Arts Commission just set up a fund of more than a Million dollars to give relief grants to artists. Brian Rogers is the Executive Director of the commission.
He joins us with an overview of the grant program, assisted by Ashland artist Bruce Bayard and artist/gallery partner Élan Chardin Gombart.
