Only twice in nearly 40 years has Oregon's Second Congressional District seat been open, with no incumbent running.
This is one of those years, with Republican incumbent Greg Walden calling it a career representing the gigantic district. It stretches from Grants Pass in the west to Idaho in the east, and touches the state lines of Nevada, California, and Washington.
Republican Cliff Bentz of Ontario has the presumed upper hand against Democrat Alex Spenser of Klamath Falls in a heavily Republican district. We bring them both in for interviews in the waning days of this election cycle. Cliff Bentz visits here; Alex Spenser joins us a week later.
