This year reminded us, with a vengeance, of the constant threat of fire in our region. The thousands of people newly homeless will need some time to rebuild their homes and lives.
They may take some solace from the knowledge that they are not alone. The project known as "Your Carr Fire Story: Written and Heard" brought the resources of the Shasta Arts Council and California Humanities into an effort to document the 2018 Carr Fire in the Redding area.
People who escaped the fire got to write and tell their own stories. We get another weekly installment from two of the participants, Michael Kielich and Lisa Kielich.
