Oregon Cares Fund Speeds Money To Black Community

It's been noted frequently how unevenly the weight of COVID-19 fell upon the population. The darker your skin and the lower your bank account, the greater the impact.

The Oregon Cares Fund for Black Relief & Resiliency is working to counteract the impact upon the state's Black community. TOCF got an allocation of Coronavirus Relief Fund money from the state legislature, $62 Million to distribute to Black people, businesses, and community organizations.

And there's a deadline: the money has to be distributed by the end of this year. State Rep. Akasha Lawrence Spence of Portland and the Rogue Valley's D.L. Richardson visit with details.
