Exploring What 'Defunding The Police' Means

It's a catchy phrase, "defund the police," but it's already become a political football. What, exactly, does that mean?

Most of the users do not mean COMPLETELY defund police departments. But they would like to see money currently used for police departments to go to other community services that might reduce crime in different ways.

Tiffany Morey is a Senior Instructor in the Criminology & Criminal Justice Department at Southern Oregon University. She stops in for a chat about the meaning behind the phrase.
