There are many issues of concern in our place and time, and fewer people covering those issues. Traditional media have been hit hard by economic pressures, even before the COVID-19 pandemic.
So rural media outlets are rare; rarer still is the rural outlet that appeals to an activist constituency. That is the target audience of Counterbound, a print and online magazine for writers and artists to publish essays, poetry, and visual art.
