It's hot, it's dry, and the blazing sun beats down on the Earth for nearly 15 hours a day. Only a plant could love it.

And some truly do, but it helps to know the best conditions for each of the plants if you're tending a garden. And more people seem to be doing that this year, spurred into action by extra time at home.

Lynn Kunstman of the Jackson County Master Gardeners Association drops by once a week to take questions and stories from gardeners both experienced and novice. Call live during the segment, 800-838-3760, or email in advance: JX@jeffnet.org.

You can also contact the Master Gardener Plant Clinic, and California listeners can follow this link to the Master Gardener program from UC-Davis Extension.
