Fixing Politics As An Industry

If you think of politics as an industry, addressing the issues with the American political system can be seen in a new light. In what other industry, for example, do the major players openly disparage each other's customers?

Such an approach in another industry would sink a business to the bottom, quickly.

Business executive Katherine Gehl and economist Michael Porter propose bringing some of the elements of business competition to politics, in their report The Politics Industry: How Political Innovation Can Break Partisan Gridlock and Save Our Democracy.

The authors visit to elaborate on some of the details of their vision.
