Exchange Exemplar: Midlife Crisis With A Philosopher In Your Red Sports Car

Taking stock in the middle of life is a common thing. Youth is behind us, and old age is (we hope) far off in the future. Reaching this point, especially with its thinning hair and thickening waists, can freak people out.

Kieran Setiya, a philosopher, stayed true to his profession in exploring this phase of human existence. He plumbed the depths of philosophy, from ancient, to modern, in constructing his book Midlife: A Philosophical Guide.
