The COVID-19 pandemic produced, among other things, a change in the treatment of homeless people. When the order went out for people to shelter in place, it would have defied logic to tell homeless people to get up and move.
Groups like the Compassion Highway Project and Options for Helping Residents of Ashland enlisted local governments to help feed and otherwise care for homeless people in the Rogue Valley.
We hear details of the effort as part of the launch of Communities Are Stronger Together. Guests are Jackson County Parks program manager Steve Lambert, Linda Reid from the City of Ashland Housing Program, Michelle Arellano, Director of OHRA, and Gina DuQuenne, advocate for homeless people in Ashland.
