The economy is a mess at the moment, but when it's good, is your life good? Does the growth in the GDP mean growth in your spending power?

We are given many numbers to track the progress of the economy, but they don't always hold meaning for us as individuals and families. That's where Gene Sperling wants to focus. He ran the National Economic Council under two presidents, Clinton and Obama, and he believes there's something more than just the numbers.

So he wrote a book, Economic Dignity, to make the case that there's more to life than just making the numbers get bigger. He visits to explain the vision.
