Political Observer Sees Electoral System "Unrigging"

David Daley is back to talk about politics once again, and this time, we can at least say the name of his book. That was not the case in 2016, when we had to take a pass on saying the actual title of the book known as Ratf**ked, about the concerted effort by Republicans to win state legislative seats in 2010, thereby controlling the redistricting--and gerrymandering--process following that year's census.

The book and a constellation of political maneuvers convinced some people it was time to change, and that is what Daley writes about in his new book, Unrigged: How Americans Are Battling Back to Save Democracy.

The new book covers changes in redistricting, the blue wave of 2018, and other political developments of recent years. And with the COVID-19 pandemic, the topics now include much broader acceptance of vote-by-mail.
