Oregon has long been one of the few states with no restrictions on how much people, corporations, and other organizations can give to political candidates. The state Supreme Court has often barred such restrictions from becoming law. Until just recently.
The Oregon Supreme Court ruled in favor of a Multnomah County law capping campaign contributions at $500. This comes as the legislature is working to enact laws on contributions statewide. JX@jeffnet.org
