Exchange Exemplar: Dar Williams On Building Community
There was already a sense abroad in the land that the country needed some TLC, especially after the ravages of the opioid epidemic on so many towns and people. Then came COVID-19, and we got another smack upside the head.
Dar Williams, singer and activist, joined us a few years ago to talk about places addressing what ails us. She wrote about them in the book "What I Found in a Thousand Towns: A Traveling Musician's Guide to Rebuilding America's Communities-One Coffee Shop, Dog Run, and Open-Mike Night at a Time."
Dar Williams brought her thoughts and her guitar to the studio in 2017, a visit that still bears listening today.
