When we have differing opinions and can't even agree upon the facts, is there any point in trying to have a conversation?

Yes, say Marla Estes and Rob Schläpfer.

They offer workshops on “How to Change Minds (Including Your Own)" to provide some guidance for people who really do think a little dialogue might go a long way to reducing the current polarized state of American discussion.

A session by that title comes to the Medford library on Saturday, July 1, part of The Weekly Talk series. They share thoughts on how to start a discussion without starting an argument.

Geoffrey Riley is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and has hosted the Jefferson Exchange on JPR since 2009. He's been a broadcaster in the Rogue Valley for over 35 years, working in both television and radio.
John Baxter's history at JPR reaches back three decades.  John was the JPR program director who was the architect of "the split" when JPR grew from a single program stream to three separate streams. We coaxed him out of retirement and he's now a co-producer of the Jefferson Exchange.
