Castle Rock School in Castella is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade. The Archaeology Channel International Film Festival is a juried international competition in the cultural heritage film genre, bringing you the world’s best films relating to the human past and our shared cultural heritage. These are great films for the whole family!
Our Keynote Speaker, Dennis Jenkins, will kick off the event at the Festival Banquet, on May 15th at the Gordon Hotel. This is followed by four days of juried films and videos on archaeological and indigenous topics, screened in the Sheffer Recital Hall at The Shedd Institute. New Spirit Village is a nationally significant pilot project addressing the affordable housing crisis. Kathryn and Barry Thalden will walk us through this charming neighborhood of 87 homes, which will begin construction this fall in Medford. The not-for-profit development utilizes revolutionary ideas and new technology (including 3-D concrete printed walls) to address the concerns of fire, inadequate low-cost housing, and multigenerational financial inequity, providing the opportunity to change people lives by creating a safe, attractive, livable, and stable community.

Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art (SMA) is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, "Moving Pictures: A Survey Exhibition of Works by Deborah Oropallo and Collaborators." Opening April 18 at 5 p.m., the exhibition invites art enthusiasts to delve into the captivating world of Deborah Oropallo and witness her artistic evolution spanning montage, sculpture, installation, and media work.
More than just a retrospective, "Moving Pictures" amplifies Oropallo's artistic journey, shedding light on her significant contributions to contemporary art. Born in Hackensack, New Jersey in 1954, Oropallo received her BFA from Alfred University and her MA/MFA from the University of California at Berkeley. Initially trained as a painter, she seamlessly integrates mixed media techniques such as photomontage, video, printmaking, and painting into her practice.
Come see the incredible sculpture of 2 dynamic artists. Claire B. Jones, from Washington, takes her colorful cloth and creative stitching sculptures to new heights. These 3D sculptures surround you with light as you follow the twirls and swirls of her artwork. Running concurrently are the works of Melissa Thompson from Montana. Melissa creatures fantasy animals using fiber and mosaics, on her taxidermy art. The playful colors and textures will draw you into a world of creativity.

The 2024 Central Point Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo is set to be the best yet. This year, many of the top 20 cowboys and cowgirls in the nation are coming to Central Point for this National Finals Qualifying Event. On top of that, there will be several new family-friendly events and the fan favorite Cowboy Marketplace all weekend. May 16th, 17th, and 18th at the Expo.
