Apr 04 Saturday
The Kinetic Sculpture Lab is opening its doors to the community for a full day of creativity, curiosity, and treasure hunting at its Open House and Kinetic Garage Sale on April 4th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at its new home.
Come explore the Lab’s new space, meet the makers, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible human-powered art machines that define Humboldt’s beloved kinetic culture. This is a chance for the community to connect with local artists, engineers, and builders who bring these larger-than-life sculptures to life.
Throughout the day, Kinetic Sculpture teams will be hosting a Kinetic Garage Sale, offering up unique, quirky, and one-of-a-kind items to raise funds for their teams. From unexpected treasures to creative oddities, there’s no telling what you might find—but every purchase helps keep the wheels turning.
Refreshments will also be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the continued growth and operations of the Kinetic Sculpture Lab.
Whether you're a longtime fan of the Kinetic Race or brand new to the scene, this event is the perfect opportunity to experience the magic of the Lab’s new home, support local teams, and score some truly unique finds.

Welcome to the Winter of Rebellion
Our after-hours speakeasy-style series where wine flows, jazz smolders, and comedy keeps things dangerously fun through the winter months. We’re hosting a rotating lineup of intimate nights filled with live jazz, stand-up comedy, and that underground energy you didn’t know you needed this season.
Each evening has its own personality — some nights smooth and soulful, others laugh-out-loud ridiculous — but every night will be one to remember!
Here’s how it works
Show up hungry and ready to relax into sultry jazz music or to laugh so hard you have to try not to spit your wine everywhere.
Comedy Nights
A ticket price of $25 per person will be charged at the door on comedy nights to support our local artists. Please no children. 21+ only. These jokes will not be family friendly.
Jazz Nights
Jazz nights are free to attend. These nights are meant for everyone. Perfect for families.
Reservations are appreciated. Walk-ins are always welcome

Siskiyou Music Project welcomes back the New West Guitar Trio on Saturday, April 4 at the Grizzly Peak Performance Space in Ashland at 7 p.m. Reservations can be made online at www.siskiyoumusicproject.com
New West Guitars have developed a widespread reputation as one of the premier jazz guitar ensembles in the world. Featuring guitarists Perry Smith (NYC) John Storie (LA) and Will Brahm (LA), they perform exciting originals, jazz standards and popular covers. Their signature sound comes from an innovative style that highlights rhythm, beauty and virtuosity through using classic “archtop style” jazz guitars.
Their new project features instruments from The Blue Guitars Foundation, a legendary collection of vintage “archtop style” jazz guitars. NWG was chosen to represent the newly commissioned guitars through live performances and recordings.
The Easter Vigil is the climax of the Christian year, which begins after sundown on Holy Saturday with the lighting of the new fire in the parish courtyard, and the procession of the Paschal candle into the dark church. A candlelit service follows, with readings from the Hebrew Bible recounting our journey from creation in the image of God, through the loss of freedom and innocence, to the promise of a new redeemed humanity in eternal loving relationship with God and the whole world. This story comes to life in person among us as we celebrate Holy Baptism, followed by the proclamation of Christ’s resurrection and the first Eucharist of Easter. Incense will be used at this service.
The services of the Holy Week form a single great liturgy. Their meaning and power is cumulative, bringing participants deep into contemplation of the mystery of Christ’s passion and resurrection. That said, even if it only possible to attend one of these services, each highlights a particular aspect of the great Christian drama of redemption.
