The South Coast Folk Society is pleased to announce a special World Music Concert and Dance on Sunday afternoon, March 9, starting at 1:00pm in Coquille. Chubritza, a premier folk dance band from Arcata California, will be on stage in the Coquille Community Building for three hours. They play enjoyable dance tunes from many different countries. Chubritza is one of the region’s most popular folkdance bands. Their afternoon dance party is open to the public and begins promptly at 1:00. Great music and festive social dancing are yours at this wonderful community event. New dancers are encouraged to attend.

Chubritza has received praise at venues throughout the Pacific Northwest for the quality of their music and the authenticity of their sound. The six musicians in Chubritza have honed their talent over the past twenty years playing for audiences from Seattle to San Francisco. The band features enchanting vocal harmonies accompanied by music played on traditional instruments from around the world. Their delightful music is infused with energy and grace, featuring village melodies and lively dance grooves. All their music is a joy to dance to, and a pleasure to hear.
