The Mendocino Art Center (MAC) hosts a full day of free Second Saturday activities in conjunction with its Members’ Juried Exhibit, with a ceramics sale, artist talk and a gallery reception. MAC’s ceramics studio opens its doors, 12pm to 7pm, for a “seconds sales” of functional and beautiful pottery and ceramics, with minor flaws, at great prices. The sale is a fundraiser to support MAC’s Artists in Residence travel to two major conferences this spring. At 3pm, an artist talk with Theresa Whitehill, will open with an introduction by Felicia Rice of Moving Parts Press, one of this year's jurors for MAC’s Members’ Juried Exhibit, and a key organizer of Book Arts Mendocino (BAM). Whitehill, who recently presented an edition of prints entitled "Waves Rolling In" to the Mendocino Art Center, will talk about her involvement in this collaborative project with local artist Josh Pierson in the mid-1980’s and about her time as head of the Mendocino Art Center's letterpress studio, Gray's Trousers Press, which was located in the Mendocino Theatre Company building. From 4pm to 7pm, meet the exhibiting artists of MAC’s current Members’ Juried Exhibit and see the award-winning artwork at the gallery reception.
