Screening of blockbuster "A House of Dynamite"

Screening of blockbuster "A House of Dynamite"

The most viewed film on Netflix when it debuted last month, "A House of Dynamite" depicts in realistic detail what would happen if our warning systems detected a single nuclear-armed missile launched by an unknown adversary heading toward Chicago. This scenario isn’t far-fetched. Each day there is some likelihood that, by accident or by intention, one of the nine countries possessing nuclear weapons and the missile systems to deliver them will launch an attack. Such an attack will probably be the start of the end of human life.
With the last remaining bi-lateral treaty between the U.S. and Russia—the New START Treaty—set to expire on February 5, 2026, the risk of a renewed offensive nuclear arms race and thus of a nuclear holocaust will increase dramatically unless something is done. Screening the film is one way Peace House is trying to motivate people in our area to take action.
