RVML Tuesday Night Lecture Series: Creating and Deepening Safety in Relationships with Gavin and Joy Taylor

RVML Tuesday Night Lecture Series: Creating and Deepening Safety in Relationships with Gavin and Joy Taylor

Whether you’re dating, partnered, or somewhere in between, the quality of your relationships often comes down to one thing: Do you feel safe to be your whole self?
In this presentation, Joy and Gavin explore building and deepening emotional and relational safety as the foundation for true intimacy. We’ll unpack what attachment styles have to do with your reactions in love, how your nervous system influences connection, and why co-regulation isn’t just for therapy sessions—it’s for everyday life, including those awkward late-night “What are we even doing?” conversations.

We’ll also explore how transparency builds trust, and why balancing the needs for safety, risk, independence, and belonging is a lifelong dance.
This is an invitation to come home to yourself and create the kind of connection where you and your partner can exhale. You’ll leave with greater clarity, practical tools, and possibly a few good laughs. After all, if we can’t laugh about love, what can we laugh about?
