RVML Tuesday Lecture Series: A Philosopher Explores the Six Faces of Climate Denialism with Daniel Scotton
Meet the six faces of climate denial, not as caricatures to dismiss, but as recognizable patterns of thought that still shape how we talk about climate change. By giving these patterns names, we gain new language for spotting them in everyday discussions and for engaging more thoughtfully with friends, colleagues, and communities.
Rather than trudging through old arguments, this talk offers a framework for understanding why denial persists in many forms and how recognizing it can open space for more nuanced, constructive conversations
about solutions.
Formerly contracted with the Department of Human Services, he supported low-income families reentering the workforce, while also coordinating refugee support events with partners like the Center for Nonprofit Legal Services. Daniel is a speaker at business and industry conferences across Oregon.
